The Rising Tide
How to Utilize a Writing Community to
Find Your Voice and Publish Your Work
Have you ever wondered? How many books never get written, let alone published? Hundreds, thousands of book ideas fail to reach completion. They die, perhaps long before their author.
Quid Novi, the thought-leader group in Northern Colorado that attempts to find innovative solutions to issues, will grapple with that question at its June 30 showcase event. On that date, Sarah Reichert, the director of the writers’ group Writing Heights, will lead a discussion about how writing communities can help would-be authors reach their goals of getting books into published form.
Reichert, who’s members have participated in previous Quid Novi events showcasing their published works, will draw the audience into discussions about who writes, what do they write, what are they passionate about. She’ll explore why writing is important and how writing has influenced people in other parts of their lives.
She’ll also engage the audience with discussion about finding their voice, a key factor for successful writers.
She’ll conclude the evening with a discussion about how to find and benefit from the right writing group to help inspire that work that perhaps hasn’t yet made it onto the page. The path to publication will also be discussed.
Participants at the June event will also have a chance to meet with published authors who join the monthly Book Expo, a part of every Quid Novi event. These authors have solved the publishing puzzle, cracked the code and have produced real books.
